Vekaam is a young horse of exceptional quality. He is an attractive, light and elegant type with correct confirmation, stunning head, excellent limbs with super flowing paces. He has a lot of presence and a superb kind temperament.

* VEKAAM - Excellent & ideal cross with L/W Hunters/Riding Horse & Hack Mares for the Show Ring. He is sure to produce some future hack/riding horse stars.
* VEKAAM is suitable for larger pony mares (14.2hh) to breed up a size.
* VEKAAM will add refinement, movement and quality to heavier boned/native/plain mares such as a pure draft mare for example.

Conditions of Service by Stallion

1. Approved Mares Only

Acceptance of the mare in respect of this nomination will be subject to the approval of the Stud.

2. Veterinary Certificate

Mares will not be accepted by the Stud unless a veterinary certificate is produced confirming that they have been swabbed and found to be free from Combined Equine Metritis (CEM).

If Stud requires, other tests including a blood test taken proving them to be free of Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA), Strangles & EIA will have to be taken.

All Mares coming to the stud to foal must have EHV vaccinations at 5,7 & 9 months.

3. Condition of Feet

Mares must be presented at stud unshod or hind feet unshod, and freshly trimmed.

4. Veterinary Expenses

Veterinary assistance will be called when deemed necessary by the Stud. All Veterinary expenses incurred in connection with any visiting mares will be charged direct to the mare owner.

5. Accidents or Disease

The Stud will not be liable for any disease contracted by the mare while at stud, nor for damages or compensation in respect of any injury caused to any mare or foal at service or otherwise. While at the Stud the mare will be at the owner’s risk in all respects.

6.Keep Fees

If mares are required to be kept at the Stud for service and scanning, the following charges will be made;

Barren/maiden mares at grass - £5.50-6.50 per day (time of year dependant)

Barren maiden mare stabled - £9.50 per day

In foal/foal at foot grass - £ 7.50 per day

In foal/foal at foot stabled - £10.50 per day

One off foaling down fee - £175

Weaning fee - £70

Stallions - £18 per day

Keep fees will be invoiced monthly if the mare is stabled and will be payable immediately upon receipt of invoice. In all other cases, keep fees will be payable in full upon return of mare. A groom’s fee of £10 will be charged in respect of each mare at stud, and will be payable upon return of mare. Wormers at cost price may also be charged.

8. Nomination Fee

A fee of £400 will be payable on collection of mare from Stud. Payment is preferred by cash, bankers order, internet transfer or company cheque. Unguaranteed cheques will only be accepted in certain cases. It is recommended that mares are scanned in foal before leaving the Stud. Terms: No Foal, Free Return . If for whatever reason your mare does not get to be covered , A fee of £40-£70 is payable on collection of the mare. This covers the teasing time .

9. Service Certificate

Service Certificate will be sent out by the Stud only upon payment in full of all keep fees and of the Nomination fee.

10. Visit by Mare Owners

Visitors are always welcome by appointment to visit their mares. Please telephone to make an appointment.
